among the folds

I noticed this small wanderer the other day while making the bed. To a lady bird this must have felt like a desert - a long walk for tiny feet.

nightfall remains

A few more from the nightfall series. Light is amazing to study, always shifting never the same.

summer sweetness

I love summer flowers especially lavender and sweet peas. Even though we are in the middle of a drought some plants still manage to survive. Sad I wont be able to go to Craftwerk in Auckland this weekend. Looks like so much fun to be had!

duck, duck, goose

Found this gorgeous wooden brooch at a gallery (sorry I cant remember the name of it) at Hot Water Beach in the weekend. It reminds me of Beatrix Potters, Jemima Puddle Duck. Love to know who makes them.

quilted sand

Early morning walk on Hahei beach. I found beautiful light, quilted sand, a mermaid sunbathing and graffiti. I love the textures, sounds and colours at the beach.

tea time

A fine summer afternoon spent sipping tea with my nana. Watching her shake the plum tree with a rake, collecting plums before the birds do. I love her recently rediscovered cosy! Ive got teapots on the brain at the moment. This is my favourite teapot created by Linda Bloomfield.

shadow puppets

My two favourite companions took me for a walk this morning. So great to be out in the sunshine.. all the sights and sounds. Discovered fields of penny royal and friendly deer. A good way to start the day!

Curiosity killed the cat

So here is my first post for 2008. This year I hope to open my eyes and ears a little wider and have a whole lot of fun along the way! Good years always start with a good trip to the op shop! My friend Caren and I took a trip the other day. Check it out at http://www.thecooksnips.blogspot.com
